LYST Minutes

April 22, 2006

Attendance: Beth Daugherty, Cindy Noble, Suzanne Young, Jim DePietro, Stacy McQuery, Melissa Horton, Larry Stout and Tammy Burton.

The meeting was called to order by President Jim DePietro.

Minutes were not available for review and no Treasurer’s report was given.

Proposed By-Law change: Current By-Laws state that there are five (5) Officers holding positions plus four (4) At Large positions. The At Large positions have never been filled. The proposal is to eliminate the At Large positions keeping the remaining five Officers in place. There will be a vote for this change at the July meeting.

The main focus of the meeting was the proposed Volunteer System that is to be implemented in the fall. This system would require each family to work at the home meets acquiring credits for the time worked. Failure to obtain the required credits would result in swimmers not participating at Champs. Swimmers will be able to continue practice. The number of credits will be determined after the home schedule is set for the fall. This number will be adjusted for the High School swimmers. A different system would be in place for the Invitational. We are asking for a $50.00 fee to be paid at registration. This fee is to be paid to the team. At the Invitational, credits will be assigned to each job. If you meet the required number of credits your $50.00 would be refunded. Those families who do not meet the requirements will forfeit their funds. The forfeited funds will be used to offset the amount the team would have to pay for any additional help. This is being done because the team paid $2000.00 + to area High School teams to help with the 2005 Invitational. Further discussion will be held at the July Meeting.

Invitational set for November 11-12^th, 2006.

Fall Registration/Open House scheduled for August 27, 2006 at 1:00 pm.
