LYST Minutes

September 19, 2006

Attendance: Tammy Burton, , Lori Parrish, Norah Ginty, Stacy McQuery, Jim DePietro, Denise Wilkinson, Teresa Hoyt, Kim Crawford and Diana Spurgus.

The meeting was called to order by President Jim DePietro.

Minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer’s report was given by Norah. We have approximately $10,000.00. We owe the league $636.00 and Kevin still has outstanding expenses from last swim season.

Kevin gave an update the coaches for the coming season. Heather Parkman and Brian and Kelly Doner will be returning. Lori Henderson, who previously coached at Garver and PICY, will be joining us on a part time basis and we are still looking for one additional full time assistant coach.

Suzanne Young presented the order forms for our team spirit wear. Order forms are available on the bulletin board. Please place your completed forms with your check attached in the appropriate slot. Orders received by September 29 will be available for the first home meet. You will have two (2) additional chances to order spirit wear. One in late October/early November and the other will be around Christmas.

Jim reviewed some of the rule changes for the upcoming season. There will be an Officiating Class at the Lancaster Y on Sunday, October 8^th. This class is for anyone who wishes to become an Official or for those Officials who need to renew their certification. There is no cost for this class.

Mary Wingett, Tammy Burton and Lori Parrish will be attending the Meet Manager Training on October 1^st. If anyone else is interested, please e-mail Jon and Jim ASAP.

There is also no fee to attend this class.

Our first home meet is Saturday October 8^th against LTPY. They are a huge team. We are anticipating 100-140 Powell swimmers that day. Melissa Horton will be contacting those who have volunteered to help with concessions. Jim will check with Aaron Harker, Kast-A-Way Swimwear, to see if he can be here. This will be a longer than normal duel meet. Please come prepared.

New parents meeting scheduled for October 1, 2006 from 2-3 pm at the Y.

Sign-ups for the NASTY Inv. are posted on the bulletin board. You must sign-up by 10/5/06 to attend this meet.

Next parent meeting will be October 3, 2006 from 4:30-5:30.
