Helpful Information for
New and Returning Swim Families!
LYST Website: Team updates and meet information are posted on the team bulletin board and website. The bulletin board is located outside the Wendel Pool along the outside wall (by the windows and trophy case). Be sure to check both places often!
League Website: The league that LYST is affiliated with also has a website (www.seowvswim.org) that is packed with information, such as directions to pools, schedules, rules, and records. Bookmark this site for a handy reference!
Parent Steering Committee Meetings: These meetings are held regularly outside the Wendel Pool. All parents are encouraged to attend. Please check the bulletin board, e-mails and the website for meeting date reminders.
Chairperson Committee Openings: please attend a meeting or contact Cindy Gilmore if you are interested in becoming involved at sgilmore@columbus.rr.com.
Swim Practice: NO PARENTS (or other non-team members) are allowed in the pool area. The coaches are available by appointment, or via e-mail for questions or concerns that you may have.
Reminder: YMCA fees are due by the first day of every month, September through February. Any fees not paid by the first will be assessed a $10 late fee. These fees are to be turned in at the desk in the Rotunda and made payable to the "Fox Family YMCA." NO REMINDERS will be sent out regarding YMCA LYST Fees.
Home / Away Meets: Coaches will make all swimmer entries. If you are unable to attend a HOME or AWAY (regular season) MEET, it is required that you SIGN OUT on the roster listed on the LYST bulletin board by the required date. Remember, our Coaches determine relays by who is signed up for a meet. Don't let your swimmers' team members down by failing to sign out if you won't be there to participate!
Invitational Meets: You are required to SIGN UP for your swimmer to participate in specific individual events. (The coaches make all relay and Champs entries) Sign up sheets and meet information are posted on the bulletin board well in advance to the Invitationals we attend. To participate in invitationals, fees must be paid at the time of event sign up. Checks are to be placed in the box between the trophy case and the bulletin board.
Invitational Work Bond: If your INVITATIONAL CREDIT is NOT earned, your check for the $50 Invitational Booster Fee will be deposited immediately following the meet. If you obtain your Invitational credit, your check will be shredded.
Fundraising Fee: If your swimmer/s sign up for the LYST team AFTER our Invitational (November 5 & 6, 2011), you will still be required to make payment to LYST for $50 since you were unable to earn your family credit. The Invitational is our ONLY team fundraiser, and ALL families are required to participate to efficiently run this 2-day meet.
Team Apparel: It is highly encouraged that each swimmer have a SPEEDO team suit. Aquatic Adventures has been chosen as our team outfitter for this season. If you would like to order a team suit, contact Mo at Aquatic Adventures, at 614-843-8659 or via e-mail at coachmoebel@aol.com. New YMCA LOGO team caps are required for ALL meets and will be available for purchase before our first meet in October. Silicone caps are $12, and Latex caps are $6.
