How To Prepare For A Swim Meet! Sign OUT of meets if you're not going to attend. Sign IN if its an Invitational. Be sure to check in at the concession stand for all home meets, and at the T-shirt table for the Invitational. Arrive 15 to 20 minutes prior to warm-ups. Mark ALL suits, caps, bags, and clothing with your swimmer's name. Remember, it all looks the same! Swimmers and spectators will "camp" in a designated area of the YMCA. Lot's of people in one room! For your "campsite," bring chairs, blankets, extra towels, games, snacks, and cool clothing. Don't forget your sharpie markers! Using those sharpies, write your swimmers event and heat numbers on their hands. Heat sheets are not available at dual meets. Know where the Bullpen is located, and have your swimmers there ON TIME, prior to the event! Keep track of your swimmers during the meet. They need to stay in the pool area or camp area during the meet. Remind swimmers of proper sportsman like conduct in locker rooms and inside YMCAs.. Swimmers need to see their coaches after each event. Do not leave the meet until you are certain your swimmer has completed all of their events. Check with the Coach if you are leaving early! Please call Coach Heather (740-304-9466) if you have a last minute illness or issue that prevents you from attending the meet. Don't EVER be afraid to ask questions! |
